University of Avignon – LIA (UA-LIA)


The "LIA" ("Laboratoire Informatique d'Avignon") is a Host Team (EA No. 4128 ) which includes faculty members of the University of Avignon and Pays de Vaucluse (UAPV) under the 27th section of the CNU and the engineers, PhD students and trainees Master during the period devoted to their research.

The LIA is the research laboratory Center for Teaching and Research Interest in Computer Science (CERI), attached to the graduate school AgroSciences and sciences (ED 536), University of Avignon and Pays de Vaucluse. Founded in 1987 by Henri Méloni, former President of UAPV.

The LIA works intensively in Automatic Text Summarization (ATS) since 10 years ago. The topics include : NN-NLP (Neural Networks for Natural Language Processing), Word Embedding for the ATS, guided summarization, multilingual and cross-lingual text summarization, automatic evaluation of summaries, multimedia summarization, tweets contextualization and summarization, automatic sentences compression, etc.
